Don’t believe everything you read!

This is the personal website of me, Sam Pablo Kuper. I’ll write what I want on it. Some of those things may be true, others not. If you’re having trouble distinguishing the true from the false, let me know.

Please don’t confuse my opinions with those of my employer(s), etc. And if you think I’ve misrepresented you or someone you know, get in touch and I’ll do what I can to set the record straight. I’m not out to libel/slander/etc (except when I’m writing in comedy mode or fiction mode, in which case such things are not intended to be taken as literally applying to the so-called real world).

In short, don’t believe everything you read to be true, here or anywhere else. Keep your wits about you!

Encryption

The following is adapted from a web page belonging to Richard Clayton, because I believe it may apply to me too:

I am subject to United Kingdom laws. Under the RIP Act 2000 it is possible for law enforcement (and other bodies) to request that encrypted material sent to me is put into an intelligible form. This part of the Act came into force in October 2007. If I wished to comply with such a request I would, where possible, do this by providing them with the session key for a particular message — thereby preserving the confidentiality of all other messages sent to me. However, in some circumstances it will be lawful for my private key to be requested and, in even more exotic circumstances, for it to be an offence for me to tell people that my key has been seized. At the time of writing, January 2009, you will be pleased to know that no notices of any kind have been served on me.
